Aurora Paper Shredders

If you are looking for a way to get rid of important documents, using one of the many Aurora paper shredders will give you the results you are looking for.  Whether you are looking for a paper shredder for the home or the office, Aurora has a model for you.  The way their paper shredders work is they either cross shred, strip shred, or do both.  In addition to just shredding paper, there are shredders on the market that can even make CDs into unreadable plastic.  Many of the Aurora paper shredders are designed for personal use, but there are models that can handle moderately sized offices.  Most of the office grade paper shredders will be capable of handling a regular office load.  If your office shreds a large amount of documents, you should consider going with a professional document shredding service.

The Difference Between Professional and Personal

The Aurora paper shredders that are designed for use in a home office are normally much smaller than your office grade equipment.  In fact, they normally are no larger than your standard waste basket.  In fact, they are normally a small waste basket with a paper shredder mounted on the top of it.  Personal paper shredders will shred your documents if you feed them in slowly.  Since these are the cheaper models available, it is best to feed in sheets one or two at a time.  Inserting more than this could result in your paper shredder becoming jammed, making it very difficult to use.  Once the Aurora paper shredder has jammed, you will need to unplug it and clean out the jammed paper.  If you feed in your destroyable documents a few at a time, then you should be golden.  Luckily, many of the person Aurora paper shredders are on the lower end of the price scale, with models available for $20 - $50.

Professional models can handle more sheets per pass, meaning you can stick a small stack of papers into the machine and they will get eaten alive, and they work at a faster rate.  When you insert a piece of paper, it normally takes a few moments for the paper to be completely destroyed.  Professional models work faster than the personal models.  They also tend to employ a method of shredding that destroys the paper better.  Using both a cross cut and a slice cut, the paper you insert will look more like confetti rather than strips of paper.  The result, a more secure form of in-office document destruction.

You will need to check to see what your Aurora paper shredder can handle.  Normally, the more expensive models will require less maintenance, and they can even handle shredding paper clips, staples, tiny piece of plastic, and credit cards.  If your model cannot handle these things, you will need to remove all staples from documents before putting them into the machine.  Otherwise, your document shredder will not last nearly as long as it needs to.

The Benefits of Having Your Own Paper Shredder

While there are several ways to get rid of your old documents and papers, having your own paper shredder makes it easy.  Document shredding services will charge a lot for a small amount of paper, and if you are only shredding a few documents a day, it is much safer and faster to do it yourself.  By doing it yourself, you avoid having sensitive documents sitting around until you have enough to send out, and they are eliminated immediately.

If you are in the market for an Aurora paper shredder, then weigh your needs.  There are models available for just about everyone.  If you need to shred your bank statement at the end of the month, or if you have to destroy important internal memos on a daily basis, the right paper shredder will do the trick.

My Aurora AS1200X stopped rotating. The motor runs but the blades will not turn. Further investigation discovered a small drive gear that split in half. Is there a parts list available for my shredder? Please respond. Thank you.
